Summerhayes – Open – 23rd March 2025

After a lovely day and lots of bites on Saturday I was hoping for more of the same the following day on Longs at Summerhayes. A great turnout of 25 anglers and it was fantastic to see Zooner who was back after a recent op and we were also joined by Russ Hamilton (Hilton) who had enjoyed his first visit fishing Sellicks

Todber Manor – Silvers Open – 22nd March 2025

Finally it was looking like we might have some decent weather at the weekend and I was really looking forward to fishing Todber again although I’m having a bit of a lean spell at the moment and I had a horrible feeling I was due a draw at the near end. After a NPB (Next Peg Battering) of epic proportions last Saturday

Revels Fishery – Open – 18th March 2025

With the weather threatening to warm up slightly it was time for another trip to Revels, after meeting Parker ‘The Pole’ for a Greggs brekkie we were soon pulling into the car park. It looked like being a nice day with blue skies and sunshine but typically for this particular little part of Dorset, it exists in its own micro climate and

Summerhayes – Open – 16th March 2025

I seem to be constantly behind with the blog so apologies if you’ve been eagerly awaiting the results of my last couple of matches (unlikely I know!). Sunday it was Summerhayes again and although we had yet another frost, it was actually shaping up to be a rather nice day. A Baker’s Dozen fishing and as per usual I was hoping to

Todber Manor – Silvers Open – 15th March 2025

After a brief spell of slightly milder weather it was back to having to defrost the car at the weekend which I thought might make the fishing a bit harder at Todber on Saturday. Another lovely breakfast and then it was draw time with everyone hoping the avoid the near end, once again I hung back hoping those pegs would be gone

Summerhayes – Open – 9th March 2025

It was back on Longs Sunday which I was looking forward to and after a lovely brekkie at the bowling club (thanks Charlotte) we headed to Bridgwater. A decent turnout of 18 today and I was hoping for a peg along the track (28-34) or my favourite number 13. I was quite near the top of the list but by the time

Todber Manor – Silvers Open – 8th March 2025

The forecast was warmer for the weekend and it made a nice change not having to de-ice the car in the morning. After arriving at Todber and filling our bellies in the Lakeside Kitchen it was time for the draw and although the fish have started to spread out a bit in recent matches, you still want to avoid the near end

Acorn Fishery – Costcutter – 4th March 2025

With some leave to use up, I booked Tuesday off and headed up to Acorn for the costcutter along with Parker ‘The Pole’. 28 anglers fishing today which is a great turnout for a midweek match. Eddie announced the draw and I was hoping for a nice silvers peg, something like 38 or 40 would do nicely please! When I looked at

Summerhayes – Open – 2nd March 2025

On Sunday we headed to Summerhayes and I was hoping we’d be on Longs but when we arrived, the car park was rammed as there was a club match booked on there which meant we’d be on Sellicks. We’d had a few nights of frosts and with most pegs in, I had a feeling it might be a tough one today. Pete

Todber Manor – Silvers Open – 1st March 2025

Back to Todber on Saturday with the ‘Ilminster Massive’ and there was a full house this week including the Somerset Spielberg, our very own YouTube sensation, Bunghole Bob! As most of us enjoyed breakfast in the Lakeside Kitchen, the mind games had already began as Bob was keen to have a nugget on it and wanted to pay me before the start
