Dillington Pond – Evening League 5 – 22nd June 2011

After a couple of poor matches I was keen to get back to winning ways tonight, there were the usual six of us and I pulled peg 4 out of the bag, which I was happy with. I set up a 4 metre whip rig and also a light Drennan Squatt float for fishing the hemp on the pole, if I started

Dillington Pond – Evening League 4 – 8th June 2011

It was pretty windy for round four and when we got to the pond the level was well down. There were only five of us fishing tonight because Robin was in Nottingham (maybe his second name is Hood and not Cox!). We put all five pegs on the field side as with the level down, where we would be sat wasn’t so

Dillington Pond – Evening League 3 – 25th May 2011

I picked Alvin up and got to the pond expecting it to be blowing hard but it wasn’t too bad. There were the usual six of us and I pulled peg 17 out of the draw bag which I was chuffed with as it’s a peg that’s been kind to me in the past. I mixed up a little groundbait (Sensas Roach)

Dillington Pond – Royal Oak Summer League 1 – 15th May 2011

I got to the pub for the draw and there was a decent turnout of ten for the first Summer League match, which was good to see. Along with the usual Wednesday night crowd there was also Rich White, Heardy, Leighton and Steve Parker. I drew peg 2 which is on a point and quite a deep peg and I had Leighton

Dillington Pond – Evening League 2 – 11th May 2011

After a poor first match in this series I was hoping to turn things round tonight. There were six of us this evening as Graham Field had joined us and we put three pegs in on each side of the pond. I drew peg 10 and was quite pleased with that as there were loads of fish topping. I quickly mixed up

Dillington Pond – Evening League 1 – 27th April 2011

With the evening league starting a lot earlier this year, I wasn’t sure how it would fish but with the warm weather we’ve been having I had high hopes. I had to pick Alvin up and when we got to the pond, we both thought you would need close to double figures to win it. There were only five of us fishing

Dillington Pond – V.E.S. Precision League – 16th January 2011

After a fair bit of rain in the week and some more forecast, I feared we might be on the pond again but Saturday was dry and I was hoping we’d actually get on the river. Robin put paid to this when he contacted me and said the river was high and rain due on Sunday would mean the river would be

Dillington Pond – Crown Winter League – 9th January 2011

The river was bank high on Saturday but I was still a little disappointed to receive a call from Robin saying he was switching it to the pond at this early stage. On the plus side, it meant Scott and Ash would be fishing (yep, mugged again!). I woke up Sunday morning and we’d had a wicked overnight frost which I didn’t

Dillington Pond – Summer League – 19th September 2010

The last summer league match arrived and after missing two matches I wasn’t in contention of a league placing so just had to try and frame today. There were only eight of us fishing and I pulled out peg 14 but would rather have had 16 or 18. Heardy drew 18 and Steve Parker drew 16, Moses was on 21 again and

Dillington Pond – Summer League – 5th September 2010

The penultimate round arrived and there were 11 of us fishing today, I pulled out peg 10, which has been a pretty consistent peg. Heardy was the next peg to my left and Richy was the next angler along on my right. Moses had a side bet with me and he’d drawn well, peg 21, on the far side. After getting my
